cheap eats
been spending too much...gosh ...singapore is expensive ....the simplest pleasures of watching a film and eating in air con comfort are adding up....its not even 3 star ..and it costs so much..time to save ....
stumbled upon the cheapest meal at work so far....
char siew + roast pork rice ...all for a grand total of S$2! the veg at the side is free and so was the bowl of corn + carrot soup! wah! i havent had S$2 anything in ages!

speaking about the devil.............i have been anticpating this film for ages....ever since i caught the trailer.... it was entertaining ...but felt like a very chick flick ...[i think i am really getting old here..haha] ...... plot alittle loose [very mean girls], before and after make over wasnt that impressive [that being said, she was pretty to start with]
the whole world wasnt free to watch this with me.....but ms helly [HEYYYY LEEE] ...mr chua's squeeze was so kind as to watch it with me and her bro ...............stumbled upon the shigeru ban pavillion at SMU for the singapore biennale ................. then off for xiao long bao at din tai fong [finally went down to the new HUGE market place at the basement of raffles city ...saw some GOD [so many seasons ago...singapore is so backward at times...and they expect consumers to be sohisticated when they bring in designs from the collection like 3 years ago ..tsk tsk ....saw my New Balance shoes on retail at S$280 [are they mad...its just sneakers...no wonder Bally is now at least like S$500 +++]

lekker party time! office warming....sangrias...a leg of spanish hammon.....archangel bread .....huge cheese..champagne.....there was a driver waiting downstairs...a porsche somewhere....a camera man branishing his digital SLR....flowers.... lotsa people...a boutique owner................... afew artists ............ some architects .......some suppliers ............. some doctors ...................film maker................... DJ......................i didnt speak to everyone though.....so i dont know wat hidden talents they must have had ......alot of people were in black though...surprise! haha
i made sure the ice was topped up, the ginger beer and beer was constantly in the tub...i was afterall on the payroll
ate some hammon + cheese ...fab...reminds me of spain....of my dear mu tuo ....with her cheese + ham....
meeting 02
i finally went to jo's house ..... after talking about her interior designer.... their concept .................. and how they switched designers..... a year later i went to see their home.................
very retro....very chic ............very kitsch [i mean it in the nicest way] .................almost like ps cafe...but in even higher drive....brilliant! .............my retro polo tee + me fitted into the tiles perfectly!
meeting 03 + falling
night time is a very strange thing to my eyes...it always feels unreal................like a movie set ................. i havent fallen down in ages.... in the darkenss of the light.. i didnt see the drain and slipped in........... but u learn to walk on again.. cant remember when i last fell....i use to fall all the time, slipping and everything..........then i recall how the body is so amazing to keep our balance and how we take the simplest things for granted... so much for hammon + champagne ... eat and drink more...cos it is all that we have till we fall over
i am alittle light headed from the loss of wisdom i extracted my last wisdom tooth ever this has to be the longest week ever
there was swelling, there was blood... either the dentist is very good or the pain killers are fantastic... the wound didnt hurt much... considerably less compared to when i removed my lower ones
as usual i cant sit still...with stiches in my mouth i went to watch the beat that my heart skipped ....i simply love the seats at the picture house...velvet chairs! i want one too!
i am so gonna get a movie pass membership when i get back to sheffield...
now that i am going to move nearer to the city centre...i will get a weekly dose of art films…
mr chua is finally leaving for yale....spent time with him and his honey ...ms helly [repeat after me... hey leeeeeeee]...first time it was xiao long bao at holland V, then afew days later it was sushi tei at holland V [thank u mrs chua] and drinks at rochester.... rochester reminds me so much of ubud in bali.... mr chua, till we meet again! in NY no less....
holland v is like my new home...went there three times in a week [lunch was there on fri....] many memories of the place come to mind when i visit holland v....dates with my exs, my job interview, running away, copywriting for starbucks.....it all adds up.. hopefully to somewhere
did i mention i was working? yes yes..i had stiches in my mouth...walked around with my tooth brush...and brought salt to work to keep my wound disinfected... heres my bear at work
work party this coming fri...tci agm gathering on sat morning...sheffield bbq in the evening...its a weekend to look forward to!
its been a year since i last contributed to SHIFT
i have always loved writing and it is brilliant to be contributing once again
after being tour guides for the evening, it was time to be tourists ourselves
while my japanese friend was off to the airport, my sis and i were off to tuas....off to KL
it is strange to be back here....entering KL, it all seemed familiar
numerous trips to KL…walking on the streets on new year eve…night markets…filming…sitting under the twin towers…standing on the sky bridge…crazy taxi driver at bangsar…it all started to come back to me
infact we stayed in the same hotel as my studio stayed in during our year 01 field trip
this time round, the old places have changed …chinatown has changed... my luo han guo drink is now served in a cup and is 20 sen more expensive
mid valley used to be so empty…it is so packed and different now
walking along the streets, i was wondering if i would bump into a familar face that i have seen in sheffield...

i forgot that i use to adore her, that i used to be obsessive of her, that she inspired me, motivated me, taught me....i had become indifferent...then i found her again...i should love him as much as i love her...afterall he is her creator...i hope to remember him again...somehow sin's words of me being more buddhist than christian comes to mind..
my grandfather gives me comfort...it is always comforting to take a trip to his grave and visit him....sometimes he appears in my dreams...and sometimes he appears in the mirror...but less often in the mirror nowadays
his grave was very pretty this time round...compared to the last time, this was fantastic...i think its brilliant
